Let us continue our journey onward to Latin America: Belona MC is a representative of the Chilean rap-scene that represents the “Voice of the Voiceless” much more strongly than in this country. The highly political rapper first came onto the scene in 2011 and quickly made a name for herself in Chile. In her song she describes the life of the marginalized working class in her home country, and deals with topics such as experiencing exclusion – and frames the topics in a very interesting manner. For instance, her song “Aperturas” from her debut album samples a lullaby that stands in stark contrast to her aggressive flow patterns.
