Let’s come to my almost obligatory praising of Floetry. Indeed, I do very much consider Marsha Ambrosius to be one of the best singers* of our time. In combination with Natalie “The Floacist” Stewart she created two fantastic studio albums that brought a little of the Lauryn Hill-vibe into the 2000s. In 2006 the two musicians parted ways but have released a string of exciting music as solo artists that have garnered far too little attention as of yet. The Floacist has made a name for herself, particularly because of her spiritual and philosophical lyrics.
